Voor mijn nodige inspiratie tijdens mijn afstuderen naar de kleine maar mooie overzichtstentoonstelling van studio Formafantasma.
Studio Formafantasma is zeer productief: in een periode van vijf jaar presenteerden ze 14 projecten en collecties, werkten ze voor grote designlabels als Fendi, Droog en Vitra en maakten ze presentaties tijdens de Salone del Mobile in Milaan, Art Abu Dhabi en Design Miami Basel. Musea als het Victoria and Albert Museum in Londen en het Art Institute of Chicago kochten hun werk aan. In deze overzichtstentoonstelling zullen, naast objecten en installaties, het maakproces en de ideeënwereld van Studio Formafantasma centraal staan.
De titel van de tentoonstelling Prima Materia verwijst naar de alchemie; het veranderen van onedele grondstoffen in edele materialen. Als ontwerpers doen Andrea Trimarchi en Simone Farresin iets soortgelijks. Een uitgebreid onderzoek- en werkproces resulteert in producten en installaties die vragen oproepen over de rol van industrie, globalisering en duurzaamheid. Zo ontstond de collectie Botanica uit de vraag waarvan plastics gemaakt kunnen worden als er geen olie meer is. Hiervoor ontwikkelden zij eigen plantaardige polymeren (plastics) waarvan vazen, schalen, een koffietafel en lampen werden gemaakt.
Tentoonstelling is in het stedelijk museum te bewonderen tot en met 15 juni 2014. Zeker een aanrader om inspiratie op te doen over materialen. Verder is de stad Den Bosch niet echt een aanrader om te shoppen, wel een mooie stad en waar je goed een terrasje kan pakken!
Small but nice retrospective of studio Formafantasma .
Studio Formafantasma is very productive : in five years , they presented 14 projects and collections , they worked for major design labels like Fendi , Droog and Vitra and they made presentations during the Salone del Mobile in Milan , Art Abu Dhabi and Design Miami Basel. In this exhibition , besides objects and installations , the creative process and the world of ideas Studio Formafantasma central.
The title of the exhibition refers to the Prima Materia alchemy , changing base materials in noble materials . If designers do Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin something similar . Exhibition is on display until June 15, 2014 . Within the municipal museum Definitely a must to get over materials inspiration. Furthermore, the city of Den Bosch is not really a must for shopping , have a beautiful city and a terrace where you can catch good!
